Machu Picchu City Archeological Remains- A Marvel to Behold

As I love to brag about the different and the amazing culture of our word, I cannot skip the famous Peruvian Incas.  Not only the culture itself is fascinating and kept many historian and archeologists buy for centuries, the historic city of Machu Pitcchu has bringing to us the amazing first hand pick to what use to be the capital of the Incas. Machu Picchu is a historic sanctuary that is situated in Peruvian Andes in South America. It comprises steep Andean slopes characterized by valleys made by Desert Rivers. Machu Picchu is a historical city of the larger Inca Empire.

Machu Picchu covers vast land. The ancient city remains is situated on land that is of 32,592 hectares in size.

The Andean/Incas people who occupy the Machu Picchu comprise diverse populations that speak three basic languages. These are Quechua, Aymara and Spanish. These people who make up the Andean societies, have a culture of farming together through communal labor.

There are no written history that explain the existence of Machu Picchu ancient remains. However, Machu Picchu city is believed to have been built at the time AD 1430. A century later in 1530 it then became the residence of the Inca rulers during the Spanish conquest period. The Inca Empire ruled over the Andean. The empire was built around the Incas Mountain that hosted the Andean societies.

History of the Andean people states that the city of Machu Picchu was founded by 750 people who occupied it. There exist mummified remains of the people who occupied the Machu Picchu city at the site.

Tourists officially began visiting the Machu Picchu remains from 1980. Further, Machu Picchu city was declared by UNESCO as a natural heritage site of cultural significance in the year 1983. Tourism to the Machu Picchu city was low in 1992 attributed to terrorism. However, the sanctuary city has experienced exponential growth in the number of tourists. For instance, in the year 2003, there were 500, 000 visitors who toured the sites.

Machu Picchu is characterized by architectural sites of beautiful landscapes and ecosystems. It is made up of hills and valleys. Additionally, there are temples that are still in existence in the historical site. Marvelous terraces that were made around the mountain by farmers form such lovely sites to behold. They are small valleys across the mountainous hills that are a beautiful sight to behold.

Contemporary Machu Picchu City
There are communities that live around this cultural heritage place currently. Spanish and Quechua are the languages that you will hear the local communities articulate when you tour the Machu Picchu. Hiking on the Inca trail, is the popular tourist activity that you will undertake on the cultural heritage site.

Currently, Catholicism is the main religion that is being practiced by modern Andeans. Moreover, there are ancient gods that are still being worshiped an example Inti Raymi. Machu Picchu is a historical site that is envisaged by rich culture of the Andean with visually attractive archaeological remains of the great city.
